I’m the hero you’ve been waiting for

Even though you see me as your biggest flaw.

I listen to your words and digest them,

Taking in all of its truths and mistakes.

I dissect all of your insecurities

Not letting you attach yourself to them,

But instead live through them

Creating the happier and healthier version

I want you to be.

Yet, I’m ignored

Instead I’m thrown on the ground

Where my pages begin to crumble

And my bright colors become gray due to the cloud of despair filling your room.

But I’ve gotten so used-to the dark,

I considered it my home.

I still wish to see the light.

I wish to be used and loved like the ones before me

Filled with love, hate, and sorrow.

I understand that just the thought of me breaks you

Mainly because you fear me and I don't know if you'll ever overcome it

But I hope you do,

I hope you'll let me be your knight in shining armor

And let me save you from your days of misery.
